Err, if dating was that easy, I wouldn't be single.

See, with recruitment you're often looking for someone Good Enough, but with dating it's more a matter (at least for me) of finding someone Right.

There's a big difference in my mind.

I think according to this we're all doomed. Doomed I say.

And I'd disagree about Jeremy's "Good Enough". In a bad economy recruiters look for a 100% to 150% match (i.e. it's an entry level job but they still need to be fluent in Perl, Java, TCL and Shell Scripting). In a good economy you'll often take a warm body that's close but not perfect.

It does kind of make you wish for a "Blog Dating Referral Service" i.e. "Well I read his blog every day and he doesn't seem like a subliterate drooling moron so maybe I'll recommend him to my friend X".

having been an eyewitness to Jeremy's dating, i have to agree with what he said...besides, at least with work you can go home at the end of the day!

Hm, now if dating worked like recruiting..

"Here's a list of prior girlfriends, the accomplishments I'm particularly proud of are highlighted in pink".

"References from girlfriends' parents and doctors".

"Clean bill of health, right here.. had all my shots."

"Drug test? No problem, here's my credit history".

"Education? Sure, studied the kama sutra in 1997 and took an accelerated course in cunnilingus in 2001, Interior design last year".

"Non-disclosure agreement? No problem".

Yah.. i could live with that..

I'm looking on Monster.com for a new job and entry level jobs are like "2 years experience, this certification, that certification, must be proficient in X,Y,Z..."

I had some guy from Primerica email me because he saw my resume, I've left him two voicemails but he still hasn't called me back. Basically, I'm screwed....
