The lost art of esthetics

This article describes pretty much how I felt when I opened my powerbook box..

Apple does pay wonderful attention to detail. The packaging, the products, everything is esthetic and pleasing. It's a lost art, pity.

I don't own a PowerBook yet, but that's pretty much how I felt opening the iPod.

I agree - the 12" PB came packed in well thoughtout and highly polished "kit"... Personally I still love the "Don't Steal Music" sticker on the iPod (in what, 5 languages no less?) - tis quality.

Yea, Apple knows how to do marketing right. Creates a sense of pride in the purchase. In a sense the attention to packaging makes the contents seem even more valuable.

Sigh ... envy. Any shots of this wonderful packaging? Yes, I feel landfill-guilty also.

sure, the powerbook is a marvel to discover , I still keep the box

hey, one day I will sell it and buy an even more beautiful macintosh , this day, the buyer will be happy to have the nice box, the nice convenient handle and all the nice cable with nice protector on it and all the stuff.

when I see sony products and price, and packaging, sometimes it's a shame.

I just love how Apple makes believe me they care about their products.
