Java and perl

Together at last using Inline::Java

Here's how.

Not sure what I'd use it for but it's cool regardless. Perl, it's what's for dinner.

That is a hell of an impressive hack.

I can't imagine ever using it for anything real, but damn it's cool.

Annoying the hell out of the programmer who inherits your code. For added effect and more language heresy, use Inline::Python and Inline::Ruby, too. Season with Inline::Tcl to taste.

Livejournal.com has been using that for a while now, they wrote a compiler in java that outputed perl code or something.. forgot exactly what now.

Don't forget to add some Inline::Ada or Inline::Asm just for the full effect of the alphabet.

Would a combination of Java and Perl be Peva or Jarl? Your play on the beef commercials was quite funny this early in the morning :) Somehow I think there is more nutrition in Perl than beef, albeit with far more chewing involved (could you imagine eating a medium-rare regex?).
