#Let me add: The distance and spatial location (near or far) of the cat in reference to the door is not relevant.
#Kasia's Law does not apply to closet doors though. Rather the inverse applies. Open a closet door and it's safe to assume at least one cat has entered the closet and is hiding inside, even if you've maintained surveillance on the door and have not witnessed an entry by said cat(s).
