A timeless classic

Someone I know is starting his first job in the IT field, so to provide him some basic training I directed the poor sucker to the bofh archives.

In my sysadmining days, they provided me with hope and good advice. Passing it on.

This is the happiest day of my life, if only people would stop calling me to do stuff, it's be perfection.

The other day our phone switch was down from 7am to 4 pm. None of the phones worked. It was the best damn day of work I've ever had.

Ah, I remember being an operator. I had all the printers intimidated so that they'd all work correctly the moment I arrived in the lab (although it did creep out some of the other operators).

I even managed to get the grad students to stop sending netscape postscript to the line printers (dropping a 3 inch stack of paper on someone's desk in the middle of the afternoon has a tendancy to make people be a little more careful with that "print" button).
