That's often the offical fix, believe it or not.

In other news, a new version is due out in about a week. Tons of bug fixes. I'm hoping we'll see an internal version RSN.

well i have a apple computer and i want a higher version of yahoo instent messanger like my friends do like when you have backrounds and like you can draw and play games with that person but yahoo wont make one. please make that version for apple computers. please.

I'm having problems with my messenger..when I sign off it doesn't really sign me off. It appears to others that I'm online and "available" and when they leave me a message I don't get it Therefore, no offline messeges. What can I do about this?

i think using yahoo messenger with all the bugs and it's unreliability of presence is not wrth our time and resources.i suggest u try icq,msn which though have their own problems, neverthless are more reliable than yahoo IM.

I just downloaded yahoo messenger 5.5, and everything was working fine. After 10 min of using it I moved my mouse arrow on top of my icons at the bottom right corner of my screen in the taskbar, and as soon as I did that, all my icons at the bottom just disappeared as I rolled over them. I reinstalled it and still did it! I changed the preferences and still the same thing. How do I stop yahoo from taking away my taskbar icons ?

I have windows xp and 98se and can dual boot intoeither one of them. But when I'm in xp and using yahoo messenger, it won't show what rooms my friends are in and they and i also have the box checked to let people see me in rooms. I checked w/another friends computer who is running xp also and hers works just fine and can see what rooms i'm in. can you help me w/this problem. Thankyou, Lori

I cant see the mesages that i typed in in chat window...also the messeages that other person has sent, but hez able to recieve my messages and i cant see the messages sent by him...i reinstalled my messenger, my OS also still same problem

just redownloaded the new yahoo messenger, but colors that i choose only can be seen when typing in the window, rooms and IM's are still just black n white font... what do i do? I have already been to appearences and set the colors that i wanted. it says "this is the way ur message text will appear" yet it is not red and blue *the colors I have selected*, its is black text. in chatrooms i see blue for the sn's and then either bold or non-bold black font for the text. making me upset, plz help GRRRRRRRR

Just d'loaded the ymessenger for Solaris from yahoo and installed it on my Solaris9 - box, but it core dumps as soon as I hit 'apply' for any preference changes. Known problem?
Initial config bails out with
sh: gnome-config: not found (no wonder - I'm using CDE).
Does anybody have (a pointer to) the structure of the profiels - file in .ymessenger?
I'm hoping that if I vi it to add my proxy, I might succeed in connecting.

Attempting to use ymessenger-0.99.19-1mdk.i586.rpm
on Mandrake Linux 8.1 (I know...I need to upgrade).

I was unable to save any preferences (among other problems)...kept getting the message:

"unable to write to 4Z@�4Z@messenger/messages.dat"

Reinstalling did not solve the problem however, after reading messages here and learning about the files deposited by messenger, I checked the /root/.ymessenger/preferences file, and found the line:

ArchiveFile "�4Z@�4Z@messenger/messages.dat"

I edited it and made it read:

ArchiveFile "/root/.ymessenger/messages.dat"

Problem solved. Hope this helps somebody as you posts helped me find the file.

i have an email and ID in yahoo but recently I can't login to it from yahoo messenger or trillian, but my email works.

i changed my yahoo messenger, i changed my password, even i got a new password from yahoo but it stil doesn't work. Even i formated my drive and reinstalled a new windows xp, but it doesn't work.

my ID and Email was : wonderboy_mfy (wonderboy_mfy@yahoo.com)

anyway I , finally built a new ID and email, but after less than a day the same problem happened to this new one, what should i do ???????????

my new ID and email is: mfy_wonderboy (mfy_wonderboy@yahoo.com)

i say again that everything works (such as email, companion, etc) EXCEPT the messenger where i wanna chat.

Please help me and so i could have at least one of them fixed, and tell me why this has happened.

was wonderin how to log back into yahoo messenger after gettin the boot!! i tried to add the magic 8 ball into my friends list for my kid and then it booted me,, i cant get in it is sayin invalid login. kinda hard when i auto loggin,,, email to my msn account. pleas under the subject put"yahoo solution" so i wont delete u. I can get into my mail and into the games. and when i go to yahoo games it loggs me in as availible on my friends' lists..please help before i get more frustrated,, thank you

i would appreciate if anyone could help me in solving my problem.while using yahoo email i have nirupama_gal as the id and in yahoo messenger too i have nirupama_gal as the id.but now in messenger while i was changing the preferences there was some statement regarding reset cookies which i m not aware of. so now when i log in in messenger as nirupama_gal and with the same password that i use for yahoo mail it says invalid log in.can someone help me out.i think my problem is related to cookies.

I don't have a comment but I have a complain. My complain is that when I download Yahoo Messenger, then after been installed, it has been to configure the setting if I am on Modemn or ISP
what do you advise to do.

ok well i downloaded a thing at school called trillian and when i came home tuesday to get on yahoo it would not let me on AT ALL!!! and plus i downloaded trillian at school like a week or so ago how much my yahoo is not working. well i deleated yahoo and changed my password. i can get into my e-mail just not my messanger. As soon as I log in, one guy chats with me asking me to talk dirty with him. As soon as I refuse he is able to log me off the yahho messenger (i get message "Ypager has caused an error in MYYAHOO.DLL, Ypager will now close". This means this guy is able to kick me off yahoo messenger whenever he wishes and I am at his mercy if I want to continue to be logged on yahoo messenger?
