Mark's boss wanted him to stop writing. He didn't, and now he has a resume and this post.
I don't know if I would have the guts.. I'd like to think I would.. but honestly, I don't know. Thankfully my boss is not a pompous ass.

i guess he's got more guts than me...
when my boss (well, not my direct boss, but someone further up the chain of command in $COMPANY) ran across my blog in a google search, and the entry i mentioned it in happened to be on the same page as one where i was bitching about something at work, he thought it might give a potential customer or recruit a bad impression, and asked me to remove the references to the company's name, which i did (i now refer to it as $COMPANY whenever it comes up in my blog).
i didn't particularly like the fact that i censored myself, but i also don't particularly like the idea of being unemployed right now. i don't /think/ i would have lost my job over it, but i'd rather not take the chance.
amusingly though, the link to my blog ended up circulating around with the higher ups in the engineering department at work, so every now and then one of them will mention something i posted about in a conversation. it's quite odd, and i'm still getting used to the idea...
