Things you should positively not do while driving
- Listen to clearchannel stations
- Knit a sweater for your favorite grandson
- Play Scrabble
- Have evil thoughts
- Hunt for dinner
- Drop your cell phone on the floor while attempting to answer it.. flail your arm wildly attempting to retrieve it without actually stopping the car and end up pushing your seat all the way back by grabbing something that seemed to be a cell phone but wasn't. Then stomp your legs around like a wild boar in a potato field as you discover you can no longer reach the brake pedal.
- Stepping on your cell phone as you tumble down hill and grab at the hand-brake in panic isn't a winner either.
It was a local, empty road, thankfully.. amazingly, the cell phone, car and idiot driver survived intact. Those little Motorolas are sturdy.

Okay, maybe you *don't* get to go for a plane ride next time you visit CA.
Wow.

8. Swat flies on the windscreen.
9. Forget you're in a car and try filtering through the traffic like you're on a bike.
10. Go round a locally notorious S-bend too quickly just after it has rained. The "idiot driver" saw the wall go past three times before he hit it.
Mike...
PS No, I have no idea where the above items sprang from. Oh, no. Not me.

You're taking the train to Boston, right ?
Same damn thing almost happened to me in downtown Boston yesterday. Cell phone vanished from my lap, started ringing and I only caught it from going under my pedals using my foot by an inch or so.
This ain't a woman driver thing at all.
It is, however, yet another good reason for headsets -- you can always follow the cord.
