Such is life

.. of a geek..

It's Friday night.. so am I out on a fun date?
Yah right..

Seeing a movie?
Nope..

Bar hopping?
I wish..

So what am I doing? Trying to figure out a bug that's been bugging me for a few days.. this is where I should type "kill me now" but that's becoming such a cliche.. Sometimes I wonder if I picked the right profession.. of course anything else would probably be incredibly boring.

See requisite email of "My Sucky But Geeky Friday Night". You're not alone.

hmm, "kill me now"... wouldn't that be
kill -9 me' ?

Yeah, another geek at home... I'm going to be reading Dune for the rest of the night.

Normally I'd be in the same boat.
But thankfully I had a great night out tonight. Friends, Guinness, pool, bar hopping, etc...

Wish you were there.

G'Luck this weekend.

*nod* I was at work until almost midnight working on a bug that turned out to be the simple addition of 4 little letters. Whoda thunk you would need to exit; after a header(Location) call.

Who cares. So what if people go to movies or bar hopping on Friday night. Sure many people can have fun doing those things, but they can be just as good or bad as what your doing.

Going on a date, only to get dumped after on.

Seeing a movie, only to find out you just used up all your Weight Watchers points (some people are into that thing) for the next 3 months because you ate an entire small popcorn and small drink...

Or Bar Hopping, only to wake up in some guys (or gals) house that you don't know with a hangover.

Not to say that you can't have fun doing any of the above. Just saying that it isn't required that you go out every Friday night because the general populace says its what you have to do. (Those evil capitalists...;))

Drinking is bad for your health :-p

So is sitting at a desk for 12 hours. Thank god for the gym.

I've turned everyone into a pessimist now...:-/

I've forgotten what it's like to go out. I don't seem to be able to stay awake past 9pm :o

Friday nights are simply an illusion caused by the proliferation of MTV addicts, and are used as a guilt-inducing tool by adolescents without enough homework.

Yup, I was at home, too. But that's what EverQuest is for, right? :)

(Quick aside - desperate to find a simple tutorial on CSS stuff for IE, since my blog is so damned ugly... yeah, I know, my knowledge is awful and puts me at the bottom of the geek-scale... but I'm working on it!)
