Neat.

Very cool. Mine own is now a bit over two and I like it very, very much. I wish you such a positive experience.

Kick Ass! My 15" powerbook is quite honestly the coolest computer I've ever owned. I'm sure you'll love yours.

Hmmm....good luck with that. I give it a few months before you have some type of problem that Apple refuses to fix.

Welcome to the "family" - you'll probably love OS-X because it works pretty well. The Apple support boards are very useful for problems and tips. Also, you'll be glad to know that having an Apple is not the "just click" experience they hype - having Darwin under the covers means that there's all sorts of areas to play :)
(I'm on an iBook now, having dumped the 12" FireBook a while ago but that's another story)

Lucky girl! In theory the boss is buying the development dept (him and me and one other dev) the brand new 15" powerbooks when (if) they come out. They've been all over the mac rumour sites for ages but nothing real as of yet.
Of course, assuming they actually come out, then it's just needed for him (and the company who approves the budget) to come through....

One more of us
One less of them
well ... maybe not entirely true.
I switched years ago, and find no reason to switch back.
I recommend having a seperate partition for Linux or BSD
and maybe buying a copy Virtual PC, the latter comes in usefull when you can't find a Mac or PPC version of your favouite software.
When I went to work down at Apple some of my colleagues had to switch from Linux, they moaned and whinged about certain features, or sometimes features that they were used to, and generally it was because they didn't know how to use OSX. ( not all the world is Linux ;)
If you get stuck Yellow Dog seems to be the favoured version of Linux for PPC.

Paul, I'm giving it to a little person in my world that really would like a laptop.

why 15", not 17" or 12" ?

Welcome to the club, Kasia. My 15" PowerBook has been an incredibly reliable workhorse.

I am typing this on my 15" powerbook that I had for almost two years without any problems. I love to be able to compile open source software without having to leave the OS X interface. Good luck! BTW I am a Apple analyst and have been fro more than 8 years. So if you have questions about OS X, just e-mail me.

Welcome to the 15" Powerbook Club!
I've had mine since December.
Are you going to get an Airport Base Station?
::highly recommended::
