Why would anyone ever leave emacs?

There's even an aim client for it.. and as is with all emacs add ons (especially the pre-compiled ones) it takes about 2 minutes to setup and actually works...

That's provided you can remember your password (4 tries).

In other news: I seem to be really bad at drawing little, black rectangles in gimp. Hmm. Who knew.

The other black rectangle is Matt. He's shy.

Little black rectangles made easy:

1. press R
2. Select the region you want to obscure
3. press shift-B
4. click pretty much anywhere

I am a German, but I don't know the word 'Zapfloch'. ;)

I had a former boss who, for a while, had emacs as his login shell. Worked out pretty well for him, actually.

Zapfloch is the thing you have in a Bierfass ;)

I don't speak German, I just plug funny phrases into babelfish.

I could see leaving it if you had an affinity for beeps.

Because Vim is clearly superior...:-P

*starts running really fast*

Dan, you're confusing emacs and vi.. it's vi that has the two mods.. "beep" and "insert".

Yeah. That is why you'd leave emacs, to use vi, because you liked beeps.

I use *cough*pico*cough*, so I'm really not qualified to comment on this at all.

Classic bloat... ;)

Long live pico and nano!

:)

Pico is good enough to meet my needs and light enough to fit on a diskette. Awesome
