I have disabled comments

Temporarily as it seems someone is having fun blasting me with comments.. 100s of comments from different IPs... so while I come up with a quick solution involving scripting and IP tables comments are off for all entries.

Well, that is except this one.

Update: okay, so much for spammers.. comments back.

Comments

Looks like you got attacked by FloodMT (do a Google search, the official site keeps getting moved). It lets an attacker use a variety of anonymous proxies (or more likely zombified computers) to submit many comments to a weblog with the aim of bringing it down by overloading the system.

Well, I implemented some scripting to prevent it in the future.. if it works, I'll post the source.

This came from trojaned machines.

I wonder why they'd pick you?

Aristotle: They seem to pick any A, B and C-list bloggers who use Movable Type and who have comments enabled - I was attacked some months ago, although I didn't get quite so many comments. The attacks aren't too difficult to carry out, apparently.

Still, I wish some people would put their free time to better use instead of trying to bring down people's sites like this.
