Flowers are great subjects. They stay still - provided wind isn't too strong - they have pretty colours and look alluring with raindrops of water on them. As a bonus raindrops are really easy to manufacture with a bottle of water, but these particular ones are real. It rained today which nearly ruined my hike.
So yah, flowers are great subjects for photography, particularly if you chose to drag a tripod around (blah, too heavy, monopod is all I ever drag - and it shows when my pictures come out blurry) and unfortunately that means every freaking online gallery is just full of nothing but macros of flowers and bugs. Sure, they're great, they're full of colors and most have great focus (something my pictures could use more of - there it is, dragging that tripod around) but honestly I get so tired of staring at pictures of the same subjects over and over.. I mean, how am I supposed to steal ideas when all the ideas are the same? |

This is a pet peeve of mine - the bloody flower photos everywhere. That, and a lot of the macro photography in general. Some people should really learn to take photos of something other than the pretty flowers in their garden.

The pictures are great - there is nothing remotely boring about good photography. A friend of mine has just turned professional (www.image-m.co.uk) after winning Practical Photographers "Photographer of the Year 2002". He used to be a music producer so anythings possible!
Maybe the more chivalrous amongst us out there should offer to carry Kasias heavy tripod!
