I must be too cynical
More and more people offer gmail invitations on forums and other discussion medium..
"I have x invites, contact me with your email address"
.. and of course my first thought is "Looking for valid e-mail addresses to spam!".
I fear I grow more cynical by the year.. maybe if this election doesn't go to Bush it'll improve. Maybe.

Well, giving away free gmail invites to an unknown person makes it that much easier for spammers to create accounts. Then when they get those 'precious' invites, they could invite themselves.
Cynicism comes with age and the realisation that the world really is crap and all that you can do still won't make too much of a difference. Strangely, it's the people who do the most that feel it the most.

I don't really see the big deal about gmail. I use Jaymail. I have a 180 gig drive in this box. works good!

I see people posting about gmail invites on some BBSs I frequent. seems like at least once a day someone offers them up. I never understood what the big deal is about gmail anyway. If youe email is that important to you, buy a domain name and find an inexpensive web host. It isn't free, but you sure get a lot for your money.
