Conversation overhead in line at a bagel place
(Service person is preparing a bagel with salmon for a customer)
clerk: ew.. it smells like fish!
customer: it is fish.. it's salmon..
clerk: Really? Shit, never heard of the damn thing
That's when you turn around and search for a breakfast place that trains their employees a little better..

If I taught programming I'd use that as an example of encapsulation. Knowing that those pink slices came from a fish is not necessary to prepare a good bagel with them :)
But on a serious note, I'd go elsewhere too :P

It's a bagel place ... no one makes a career working at a bagel place. Each and every employee is a temporary worker who probably won't last more than a few months. They're all kids who really don't give a rat's gall bladder about making bagels, doing a good job, or providing a decent service. [And it's their right - almost an obligation - as a young adult to be that way!]
Yes, you can move on to a new place, but you're really not going to find anything different. At best you might find a place that HIDES it better, but that's about it.
Besides, you don't eat fish. How much can they screw up cream cheese and sprouts?

that is bad though...you should be at least expected to know what salmon is...Was he in a cave in the middle of the continent for his entire life? Depending on how good the place actually is...you might should look somewhere else :)
on a side note, Locs with cream cheese on a bagel are one of the best breakfast foods out there.
