!Procrastination
Turns out I feel more inspired to do stuff when I don't have a week-long list of overdue tasks hanging over my head.. who knew not putting things off until the last minute actually inspired more productivity?

Wow, what a earth-shattering discovery. WRite a book about it and go on Oprah.

Interesting... For some reason I find the opposite to be true. The pressure of a deadline seems to inspire to me work harder and work better.
Of course getting it done early does help because there's no stress. :)

That's called Structured Procrastination -http://www-csli.stanford.edu/~john/procrastination.html- and it's wonderful!

this little piece of wisdom frequently occurs to me. i don't have a pen handy, don't feel like getting up to find one, and it falls by the wayside. ironic, huh?

I've discovered that urgency is an incredible way of focusing the mind. Without it life is subject to far too many distractions, some you like, and some you don't but they all get your attention and probably not deservedly.
I seem to have had a rolling list of things that need finishing for what seems like an eternity, until today. Now, I have 24 hours to finish a codec implementation, integtrate it into a softswitch, and test it to the satisfaction of the "beta" committee... or fly out to Thailand and complete it out there for the demo on Tuesday.
Great joy. Guess what I'll be doing today...
